Acne

What causes acne?
Acne is a common skin condition producing pimples on the face and upper torso. It is cause by an
interaction between hormones, skin oils, and bacteria that results in inflammation of hair follicles.
Acne occurs mostly on the face, upper chest, shoulders, and back and sometimes abscesses. Both
cysts and abscesses are puss-filled pockets, but abscesses are somewhat larger and deeper. Acne
occurs mainly during puberty, when the sebaceous glands are stimulated with increased hormone
levels. Also Other triggers for stimulating sebaceous glands that can result in the formation of acne
can be: the use of cosmetics or makeup, the time of the female menstrual cycle, or the use of certain
drugs or medications.

What causes Adult Acne?
There are several things. As females get older, the pattern of hormones changes and can activate
sebaceous glands causing the acne breakout.  Ovarian cysts and pregnancy may also cause
hormonal changes that lead to acne. Some women Get acne when they discontinue birth control pills
that have been keeping acne at bay. Sometimes young women may wear cosmetics that are
comedogenic- that is, they can set up conditions that cause comedones to form.

Advance Cosmedics uses a combination of oral, topical and Laser treatments to combat Acne. The

collagen to improve acne scarring.

Is the treatment painful?
There is some minor discomfort associated with the treatment.  Most people tolerate the treatments
very well. Discomfort is often described as a slight tingling or pinch similar to the snap of a rubber
band. Side effects, if any, are usually minor. There may be some redness and swelling around the
